Russian Draft Security Council Resolution on De-Escalation Zones in Syria
by Stephen Lendman
Russia’s draft resolution seeks to codify its de-escalation zone plan into binding international law if adopted by SC members.
The document calls on all parties, nations and opposition groups, to refrain from hostilities in areas agreed on by Russia, Iran and Turkey. America isn’t part of the agreement.
The Pentagon supports halting aerial operations in these zones, except its own – on the phony pretext of combating ISIS America created and supports, making the likelihood of Russia’s plan succeeding in advancing things closer to overall conflict resolution virtually nil.
Moscow supports peace, stability, respect for Syrian sovereignty, its territorial integrity, and right of its people alone to decide who’ll govern them, free from foreign interference.
Washington wants regime change, Syrian sovereignty destroyed, the country balkanized, its resources pillaged, it people exploited – no matter the cost in mass slaughter, destruction, chaos and human misery.
It wants another imperial trophy, Iran isolated, ahead of initiating regime change plans against the Islamic Republic, wanting pro-Western governance replacing its sovereign independence, along with Big Oil gaining control over its vast hydrocarbon reserves.
Trump is as lawless and reckless as his predecessors, a puppet leader, a captive of US dark forces, wanting dominion over planet earth, its resources and people. Their imperial madness may end up destroying what they want to own.
Russia’s SC resolution will be voted on this week. Adoption is likely, enforcement another matter entirely.
Washington pays no heed to rule of law principles in pursuing its objectives. Its imperial wars rage in multiple theaters.
Its end game involves eliminating all sovereign independent governments, replacing them with US vassal states, including Russia and China.
Eventual nuclear war is likely if nothing is done to halt its imperial madness. Its rage to dominate puts humanity’s survival up for grabs.
