WaPo Supports Unlimited US Warmaking
by Stephen Lendman stephenlendman.org – Home – Stephen Lendman)
The neocon/CIA house organ Washington Post never met a US war of aggression it didn’t endorse wholeheartedly.
Its editors lied about the flagrantly illegal 2001 AUMF, launching endless US wars of aggression, WaPo and other media scoundrels pretending they were democracy building liberating conflicts.
The earlier AUMF had nothing to do with combating ISIS, al-Qaeda, or other terrorist groups Washington created and supports – everything to do with replacing sovereign independent governments with pro-Western vassal ones.
WaPo lied claiming otherwise, calling the measure “necessary and appropriate at the time” – supported by 534 congressional members based on a Big Lie, only one opposed, instead unanimous rejection, how responsible societies are governed.
WaPo called Bush/Cheney naked aggression on Iraq “constitutionally in order” – a disgraceful perversion of truth.
Its editors saying US warmaking “need(s) a (statutory) refresh” sounds like a serial killer asking for more ammunition to continue rampaging lawlessly.
They support updated/open-ended AUMF authority to continue waging forever wars unrestrained.
Congressional sponsors and WaPo lied, claiming proposed legislation is needed to combat ISIS, al-Qaeda and other terrorists – cutthroat killers, used as imperial foot soldiers.
They failed to explain an updated AUMF will authorize wars of aggression against more countries than already – despite no nations anywhere threatening US security.
Warmaking authority rests solely with Security Council members – not presidents, Congress or the courts.
Without SC authorization, attacking other countries is naked aggression – the highest of high crimes.
What’s most important to explain, WaPo and other media scoundrels suppress.
