NYT Russophobic Rubbish
by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org – Home – Stephen Lendman)
The Times is a mortal enemy of journalism the way it’s supposed to be – notably on Washington’s imperial agenda, other geopolitical issues, Russia, and other sovereign independent nations targeted for regime change by the US.
The self-styled newspaper of record opposes Trump’s outreach to Moscow and Vladimir Putin personally.
It rejects efforts to improve bilateral relations, trumpeting long ago discredited Big Lies, falsely accusing the Kremlin of all sorts of things it had nothing to do with – again in its latest Russia bashing editorial.
The Times disgracefully slammed Trump for holding “chummy meetings” with Vladimir Putin, saying:
“Certainly (Russia’s president) is asking for punishment when his agents use a chemical weapon against a double agent, brazenly meddle in Western elections, cheat in international sports, ruthlessly ravage Ukrainian territory or violate human rights.”
All of the above are bald-faced lies. The Times knows it but trumpets them anywhere, adding:
“Western (sanctions and other) actions have not been demonstratively successful in changing Russia’s behavior.”
Aggressive US behavior should be challenged. Among major powers, Russia is the leading proponent of world peace and stability, Washington their mortal enemy – waging endless wars against nations threatening no one, naked aggression the Times supports.
Multiple rounds of US sanctions on Russia were illegal, including the latest ones imposed on Wednesday, falsely blaming Moscow for the March Skripal incident it had nothing to do with – a US/UK-staged false flag.
According to the Times, they were imposed under “a 1991 law requiring sanctions against any country that uses chemical or biological weapons. The administration should have imposed them months ago.”
Fact: Not a shred of evidence suggests Russia used these or any other weapons against the Skripals or anyone else. Claims otherwise are bald-faced lies.
Fact: Washington and Israel use these and other banned weapons in their wars of aggression. The Times ignores their high crimes.
Fact: No “Russian aggression” exists, as the Times and other media scoundrels falsely claim – a US/NATO/Israeli specialty, not Moscow’s.
For all his unforgivable faults and crimes, too egregious to overlook or forgive, to his credit, Trump genuinely wants improved relations with Russia.
Hardline Trump regime officials, nearly the entire Congress, the Times, and other media scoundrels oppose doing the right thing.
They’re against world peace and stability, in favor of endless US wars of aggression, supporting its rage for dominion over planet earth, its resources and populations.
They’re mouthpieces for wealth, power and privilege, propagandists, not journalists – disgracing what the profession is all about.
