Hazardous to Health GMO Foods and Ingredients

The danger is indisputable. Independent scientific studies exposed the hazards long ago – suppressed by Washington and US media, supporting corporate profits over human health.

GHW Bush’s 1992 Executive Order falsely called GMOs “substantially equivalent” to ordinary seeds and crops, saying no government regulation is necessary.

The FDA and other federal agencies are run by and operate as corporate front groups. Food and drug officials notoriously approve unsafe products, suppressing scientific evidence proving it.

In 1992, the FDA lied claiming GMOs are safe to eat, no safety studies required. Along with independent studies proving otherwise, internal memos made public from FOIA lawsuits revealed White House political appointees were ordered to promote these foods.

Monsanto vice president/Deputy FDA commissioner Michael Taylor established the policy – despite FDA scientists warning of potential health hazardous from consuming GMOs. Claiming otherwise constitutes massive consumer fraud and coverup.

Genetic engineering transfers genes across natural species barriers, causing untested for safety mutations in the DNA of GMOs.

Monsanto set to merge with Bayer, DowDuPont, and ChemChina after acquiring Syngenta will control the pesticides and seeds market – inflicting more harm on planet earth and human health than already.

Noted scholar, environmental activist, and food sovereignty advocate Vandana Shiva accused agribusiness giants of imposing “food totalitarianism” on nations, poisoning the earth and harming human health by proliferating toxic GMOs worldwide.

She explained there’s nothing green about what she calls “the violence of the green revolution.” 

Claiming so-called GMO Golden Rice addresses malnutrition in countries like India is a blatant lie, she stressed, misleading people where it’s sold.

A cancer epidemic affects farmers using toxic pesticides, notably Monsanto’s Roundup Ready and glyphosate herbicide.

Thousands of farmers in India and elsewhere commit suicide from over-indebtedness, unable to repay Monsanto and other corporate predators, their land seized for nonpayment.

Notion of safety and “substantial equivalence” of GMOs to conventional foods are patently false.

The GMO story is unrelated to science. Proliferating these foods and ingredients constitutes a hazard to human health, along with an illegal takeover of nations’ food supply where they’re produced and sold.

Agribusiness giants want all animal and vegetable life forms patented. They want worldwide food control. They want it genetically engineered. They prioritize profits over human health.

GMOs saturate today’s food supply in many countries. The Center for Food Safety (CFS) “challeng(es) harmful food production technologies and promot(es) sustainable alternatives.”

It calls genetically engineered plants and animals “one of the greatest and most intractable environmental challenges of the 21 century.”

Most corn, soybeans, canola, dairy products, vegetable oils, soft drinks, ice cream, margarine, peanut butter, tomato sauce, salad dressings, soups, crackers, many animal products, and many others are hazardous to health GMOs.

Their dangers include high toxicity risks, allergenicity, antibiotic resistance, immune-suppression, cancer, and numerous other diseases.

They’re less nutritious and ecologically harmful. They cause uncontrolled biological pollution. They threaten microbial, plant and animal species with extinction. They promote harmful monocultures over beneficial biodiversity.

They potentially contaminate all non-GMO life forms. Despite risks too great to ignore, Congress and US regulatory agencies ignore them – abdicating their authority to agribusiness, giving it free reign, letting food giants slow-poison us.

Consumers in America and many other countries are unwitting guinea pigs, part of a vast uncontrolled, unregulated human experiment.

Dozens of countries where GMOs are sold require labeling. US legislation gives food sellers labeling options more confusing than helpful to consumers.

Center for Food Safety executive director Andrew Kimbrell calls the US law “a non-labeling bill disguised as a labeling bill, a sham and a legislative embarrassment” – written by Monsanto and other industry lobbyists and lawyers.

Dozens of countries responsibly banned GMOs – including Ecuador, France, Germany, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Russia, Scotland, Switzerland, Turkey, and Venezuela, among others.

Australia, Japan, Mexico, and other countries have partial bans. A number of counties in America banned the planting of GMO crops.

Polls show overwhelming US consumer support for labeling GMO foods and ingredients. Most US consumers believe they’re unsafe.

They never should have been approved in the first place. They should be universally banned entirely – beneficial organic foods replacing them.
