Loose Cannon Pompeo’s Failed War on Iran

Loose Cannon Pompeo’s Failed War on Iran

Pompeo-led Trump regime maximum failure failed.

The same goes for similar policies against other nations on the US target list for regime change.

They and Iran grew more resilient and self-reliant. The harder the US pushes against them because of their sovereign independence free of its control, not for any threat they pose, the more greatly imperial USA hastens its own decline.

The whole world knows that no nations threaten US national security, what’s been geopolitically clear since WW II ended.

In contrast, dominant US hardliners from both wings of its war party threaten humanity at home and abroad.

Its endless wars by hot and other means are well understood by followers of my writing of Washington’s imperial agenda.

The Trump regime’s doctrine, if one exists, is all about going all out for privileged interests by exploiting ordinary people at home and abroad — along with wanting nations the US doesn’t control transformed into vassal states.

Dems operate by the same standards at home and abroad.

Last week, Pompeo announced new unlawful Trump regime sanctions on Iran, another futile effort to weaken its economy and inflict greater hardships on its people.

If sanctions could transform nations into vassal states, Iran, Russia, China, Cuba, North Korea, and other targeted nations would have collapsed politically and economically long ago.

Instead, they’re more resiliently self-sufficient than before US sanctions war on their countries began.

Newly imposed Trump regime sanctions on Iran won’t be any more effective than earlier ones.

In hostile remarks last week, Pompeo falsely accused Iran of crimes committed by the US against the nation and its people.

He lied calling “the Islamic Republic of Iran…an aggressor (sic)” — clearly what applies to the US, NATO, and Israel, not Tehran.

He threatened Iran by US “military readiness” in the Persian Gulf where US forces don’t belong.

He threatened unspecified US actions against Iran if the Security Council doesn’t renew the conventional arms embargo on the country before it expires on October 18.

China and Russia strongly oppose the Trump regime’s demand. Brussels expressed opposition.

The US and Israel are losing, not gaining or winning over allies, on issues related to nonbelligerent Iran.

Last month, Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif met with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow.

He delivered tele-remarks to Vladimir Putin. Zarif and other senior Iranian officials discussed issues of mutual concern with their Chinese and Russian counterparts that include growing mutual cooperation politically and economically.

Beijing and Tehran deepened bilateral ties by reportedly agreeing on a 25-year, $400 billion strategic partnership.

Zarif and Lavrov discussed renewing a bilateral partnership by extending and expanding an existing arrangement for another 20 years.

The current agreement expires next March. Both countries agreed in principle on a more comprehensive deal.

These agreements and other politico-economic ones between Iran and allied nations go a long way toward neutralizing Trump regime maximum pressure.

Its efforts to sabotage Iranian bilateral deals with allied countries failed. More of the same could be announced in the fullness of time.

Ayatollah Khamenei and Iranian President Rouhani ruled out talks with the US unless it returns to the JCPOA, ends its unlawful maximum pressure war, and respects the rule of law.

Rouhani also demanded a US apology for its lawlessness and wants compensation for damages to Iran and its people.

Both wings of the US war party can never be trusted, why diplomatic outreach to their leaders is a waste of time — achieving nothing longterm, assuring betrayal if agreement is reached on key issues.

Imam Kmanenei earlier accused US officials of being liars and deceitful.

He called unlawful US sanctions “a crime against the entire nation,” adding:

“If the enemy talks of negotiation, it means ‘come to the negotiating table and don’t develop missiles.’ ”

“If you give in to their demands… you will make yourself defenseless.”

“(I)f you don’t, you will have to face the same story: disputes, threats and sanctions again. This is what negotiation (with the US) means.”

It doesn’t negotiate. It demands, seeking to exploit other nations and their people, rejecting mutual cooperation.

That’s the American way, what its imperial scourge is all about — why unthinkable global war could happen ahead.
