NYT War on Russia Heats Up Pre-Election
by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org – Home – Stephen Lendman)
The Times is militantly hostile toward all nations unwilling to sacrifice their sovereign rights to a higher power in Washington.
The self-styled newspaper of record has been hostile toward Russia for over a century.
It has nothing to do with Kremlin threats that don’t exist, everything to do with Russia’s freedom from US control.
In recent days, an array of Times propaganda pieces targeted Moscow with misinformation, disinformation, fake news and Big Lies.
The broadsheet pushed DNI/FBI fake news about Russia and Iran-obtained US voter registration data with intent to meddle in the November 3 presidential election (sic).
Instead of explaining that no corroborating evidence was presented to prove accusations made, the Times repeated them, saying:
“Russia remains the primary threat to the election (sic).”
“(N)ew information…demonstrates that Iran is building upon Russian techniques and trying to make clear that it, too, is capable of being a force in the election (sic).”
No evidence indicates that any foreign nation ever engaged in US election meddling — what the CIA and its intelligence community partners have done against scores of nations worldwide, including against Russia and Iran.
No matter which right wing of the US war party controls the White House and/or Congress, Washington’s agenda toward Russia, Iran, and all other independent countries is unrelentingly hostile.
What’s most important to explain, the Times consistently suppresses, notably on geopolitical issues.
A separate Times piece claimed that “Russia poses a greater election threat than Iran” — instead of explaining that no foreign nations threaten the US in any ways.
Citing unnamed sources, an establishment media specialty, the Times claimed that “Russia…hacked into state and local computer networks (sic),” adding:
US intelligence community sources claim that Russia “plans to interfere in the presidential race in its final days or immediately after the election on Nov. 3” to help Trump (sic).
Like virtually always before, no corroborating evidence was presented because there is none.
The phony accusation combines Russia bashing with Times press agent support for Biden/Harris.
Throughout the 2020 political season, its reporting has been entirely one-sided, polar opposite what journalism is supposed to be — long ago abandoned by the Times and other establishment media.
They’re operating as virtual Biden/Harris press agents, ignoring their dark side and threats they pose to world peace and ordinary people at home and abroad.
A third Times article accuses Russia of “breach(ing) the (US) power grid, water treatment facilities and even nuclear power plants (sic),” adding:
“It also hacked into wi-fi systems at San Francisco International Airport and at least two other West Coast airports (sic).”
All of the above is what the US does against numerous countries, imperial partners and adversaries alike — spying on their leaders and other top officials included.
US authorities and its intelligence community never presented evidence linking these or similar activities to Russia, China, Iran, or other countries targeted for regime change.
Instead of setting the record straight by truth and full disclosure reporting, the Times and other establishment media repeatedly feature state-approved propaganda over all the news that’s fit to print or present on air.
