The Business of America is Forever War on Humanity
by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org – Home – Stephen Lendman)
Noted trends analyst Gerald Celente repeated what he said long ago.
The business of America is permanent war.
Addicted to waging it perpetually from the republic’s inception, its ruling class glorifies warmaking in the name of peace it abhors.
Hannah Arendt once said crimes of state aren’t committed by fanatics or sociopaths, just “terrifyingly normal” people.
“(N)either perverted or sadistic, (they) accepted the premises of their superiors and their state” to continue current and/or longstanding policies, no matter how contrary to the rule of law and harmful to most people.
MSM propaganda provides press agent services, supporting what demands condemnation.
Proved once again by all things flu/covid, mind-manipulation works, convincing most people that what’s harmful is beneficial.
US raping, destroying and occupying other nations is considered liberation, plunder called economic development.
Imperial control and exploitation masquerade as democracy building — abhorred by the US ruling class, tolerated nowhere.
Might unjustifiably justifies right, it claims, nations smashed for their own good.
Terrorists ‘R us — ISIS, al Qaeda et al used as Pentagon/CIA proxy fighters, doing the imperial state’s bidding.
No nation caused more harm to more people over a longer duration than hegemon USA.
Prioritizing concentrated wealth and power, it’s governed by right-wing duopoly rule — the money or property party.
The world’s leading purveyor of state terrorism, it’s perpetually at war at home and abroad.
Peace, stability, governance of, by and for everyone equitably according to the rule of law are considered nonstarters.
America’s war machine never rests or tolerates anti-war activism, justifiable dissent considered domestic terrorism.
State-sponsored 9/11 was all about escalating forever wars by hot and/or other means against nations free from US control.
Smashing nonthreatening Afghanistan was prelude for more of the same to come.
Is America’s long ago lost war over?
Not if policies favored by extremists like former US war secretary/CIA directo Leon Panetta are followed, on Thursday saying:
The “bottom line is that our work is not done in Afghanistan (sic),” adding:
“We’re going to have to go after ISIS” — ignoring that he used their jihadists as proxy foot soldiers when heading the US war machine at the Pentagon and CIA.
The same applies to made-in-the-USA al Qaeda.
Panetta and likeminded US forever war advocates want it waged without end on Afghanistan and its people.
Saying “(w)e’re probably going to go have to go back in (against) al Qaeda” ignored US use of its fighters as imperial proxies, adding:
“(T)he bottom line is we can leave a battlefield but we can’t leave the war (OF) terrorism (not on it, an invented) “threat to (US) security,” not a real one, a pretext for smashing nations to control them, their resources and populations.
What Panetta — and others like him — fail to explain is what hegemon USA’s aims are all about.
It’s modus operandi includes proliferating state terrorism worldwide, not countering it.
The US indeed has “good intelligence” on the leadership of ISIS it installed and controls.
Looking ahead, Afghanistan has been a gift that keeps on giving to the US military industrial complex, notably its profiteering weapons makers.
The same goes for profiting hugely by Washington, the CIA, major US/Western banks and other monied interests from production and sale of illicit drugs — including heroin from Afghan opium.
As long as the Taliban remain free from US control, regime change will define its policy toward the country — suggesting no end to forever war ahead, by hot and/or other means.
A Final Comment
According to an “exclusive” Al Jazeera report, Taliban sources said “an inclusive (Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan) caretaker government” is planned.
It’ll “include leaders from all ethnicities and tribal backgrounds in the country” — headed by an “ ‘amir-ul momineen’ (commander of the faithful).”
“(N)ew faces” will be involved, including Tajiks and Uzbeks.
Taliban leadership is committed not to allow terrorist attacks to be launched from Afghan territory internally or cross-border.
Inclusion of women in government and other sectors of society is planned.
Restoration of any sense of normality to the war-torn country for its long-suffering people faces enormous obstacles.
Far and away most troublesome is hegemon USA’s aim to maintain control over what it has no intention of relinquishing voluntarily.
Most important for Afghans is Sino/Russian support, including financial help, as a counterforce against US imperial aims.
How things play out ahead remains to be seen.
What’s clear is that Washington and its imperial partners are mortal enemies peace, stability, nations free from their control and the rule of law.
Looking ahead, Afghans face a daunting longterm struggle to overcome the threat of US designs on the country — with unchallenged control over its territory, resources and people in mind.
